”THE MATRIX  represents the primordial essence of being — the inaugural point of the existential labyrinth yet to unfold. This foundational nucleus, generating both meaning and identity, is reconfigured by Ioana Ursu through a pictorial language rich in metaphorical depth. The artist reactivates the concept of inner genesis, bringing forward a dual self: simultaneously anchored in lived time and suspended within symbolic interiority. This tension between memory and becoming is materialized through two distinct visual perspectives. The first direction takes shape in a series of six works entitled “The Matrix,” in which the message is intensified through the insertion of an insect — a symbolic element functioning as an axis of interpretation. Its presence is not decorative; rather, it operates as a visual code. The insect becomes a carrier of meaning, suggesting transformation, cyclicality, fragility, and regeneration.
